Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein is taking shape

In the last weeks we’ve heard a lot about the Dachstein Opening and its unexpected delay, about the lotteries and we talked with freestyle pros about the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein. It all made us more and more curious about the park itself and here finally we come with the good news: the snowpark setup is getting in shape!

The preparations in the park area are in full swing, as the shape crew around parkdesigner Andi Röck has worked on preparing the landing hills the last weeks. With the help of a new snowcat the guys have shaped massive snow hills for the kicker and the railline that are nearly completed now. After an extensive railservice of the current obstacles, the new elements have arrived too. QParks thought a lot about how to innovate the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein and the Dachstein Railways (Bergbahnen) spared no expenses and invested in six new obstacles for the park. Hence, the awesome setup as known from the last years could be expanded by an a-frame butterbox, a rollercoaster butterbox, a 4m flat box as well as a 3m flat box. As a special treat for the Horsfeathers Superpark Dachstein, two new downrails with a length of 8m have been ordered and are now being installed as a „4 rails in line“ course that will push the park to the max!

Thanks to the constant cool and sunny weather „everything proceeds just great“ as Andi Röck told us. Therefore the shape team has finished the beginnerpark by now and even the medium line is almost completed. In the next days, the shapers will install the rails and the missing boxes, so that the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein can open its gates in perfect shape right in time for the Dachstein Opening on June 5th 2010!

Last but not least there’s to tell that not only the park workings are going on quite fast, but also the rope revision is progressing well as the workers have pulled through already more than the half of the rope. Good news? Oh yes indeed!
