Last Saturday, we hosted our second GAME of go-shred above the clouds, high above the city of Innsbruck. And this time, the conditions couldn’t have been better! The day before, a small storm brought just enough fresh snow to cover everything in white again. Then, from early morning onwards, we had bright sunshine—but only above 1800m.
At 8:15 AM, we took the first gondola up to finalize the setup, just in time for the arrival of the first participants. Thanks to the support of head shaper Bjarni, the amazing go-shred event crew, and the helping hands from Audiowerke, who assisted us in setting up the sound system, we were ready to welcome our first guests.
In addition to the GAME of go-shred, we teamed up with Salomon Snowboards to offer a test session for their brand-new snowboard collection. The boards and bindings for next season look incredible! A perfect mix of classic style and innovative technology—definitely worth trying if you haven’t already.
A Day Full of Action and Emotion
At 11:00 AM, we officially opened the registration. We are still committed to keeping participation free of charge, staying true to the motto “Let the kids ride free”, an inspiration from back in the day, originally coined by Volcom—one of our longest-standing supporters.
We could hardly believe our eyes—so many young shredders showed up to play the GAME of go-shred with us! Our event is open to all ages and riding levels, but this time, the day belonged to the kids. The atmosphere was full of excitement, joy, and energy. Some of the kids had participated in past GAMEs, but for nearly half of them, it was their first time—and they were absolutely stoked. Their bright smiles and shining eyes said it all!
At 12:00 PM, the GAME began: six groups with nearly 40 kids on skis and snowboards tackled the challenges ahead. After completing the first disciplines, we fired up the barbecue—because playing is always easier on a full stomach, especially when you’re a kid with boundless energy!
By 3:00 PM, all groups had finished their disciplines, and we started preparing for the prize-giving ceremony. Thanks to our amazing partners Volcom, Giro, Salomon Snowboards, Stance, and Yeti, we were able to reward our winners with loads of awesome goodies.
An Unforgettable Day
It was amazing to see how much the young shredders love to play, learn, progress, and most importantly—have fun! Life is just so much better when you’re enjoying every moment.
