Last Saturday, we run the STEP IN THE ARENA rail battle at Steinplatte Snowpark.In the morning, just after finishing to pull up our setup, we had some sun and we were hoping that it stayed like this.  By  11 o’clock we started the registration and  step by step more and more rail battle hungry shredders showed up. The setup, build by the High Five snowparks crew looked amazing. As you may perhaps remember, at STEP IN THE ARENA contest, there are 3 different zones and in each zone it’s necessary to stomp tricks and get points for your final result. As the name of the format speaks for itself, there’s only one winner in the ARENA which seems perhaps unusual and controversial, but this one is a battle and the only one with prize money.  At 12:00 we started with the qualifications. To keep it equal we started in 4 categories, snowboard, ski, advance, experts, men and women. Just to underline that all go-shred events welcome always snowboarder and skiers. Just to make things clear, at go-shred prizemoney is equally distributed. Same amount of money for men and women.  After spectacular qualification rounds, at 2 o’clock we had a solid range of riders for the finals. The battle is exhausting cause it’s a rail and hike session, but the adrenalin, the hype and the euphoria is unique and that why it’s so good. The whole go-shred crew, all the shapers from High Five Snowparks were super stoked to feel the energy of the contest. During the finals, we had free BBQ and drinks for all the participants which created a festival vibes combined with tough rail riding. When finals were done, the crowd was stoked and happy to finish the sausages, the drinks and get some rest. At the prize giving ceremony we crowned the winners with money and price from our supporter Giro Snow.  We want to say thank you to all of you for showing up and battling in the ARENA. Hugh thank you to Steinplatte and Kitzbühler Alpen Region Hohe Salve for having us for nearly a decade and pushing with us the SHRED!  Season is not over yet – three more events to come: On Saturday, 28th of March, we run another BINGO at Obereggen, on 4th of April, we’re at Crystal Ground in the wonderful Kleinwalsertal for the 4th GAME of go-shred, and on 18th of April, we’ll close the season at Nordkette Skyline Park with BBQ, dinks and a style session. Hope to see you there …...
