Full Recap I Nordkette Skyline Park I RE-START I 2025

On Saturday, the 12th of April, the go-shred team was at Nordkette for a nbd – never been done, for those who don’t know what nbd means. Why nbd? Because it was the first time in go-shred’s history that we didn’t do the Season Ender at Nordkette Skyline Park, but instead did the Season RE-Start.

Since the gondola was undergoing maintenance, Nordkette was closed for 5 days. As you can imagine, after a closure, the best case is an opening, and this time, it was part of go-shred’s plan to RE-START the season for another two weeks. The shaper crew rebuilt the park, and we were lucky with the weather – Saturday was a royal day. Blue sky, bright sunshine, and spring temperatures made it a perfect day to reopen the park for a few more days.

Around 10:00, we finished the installation and enjoyed the empty park until the first shredders arrived. At around 11:00, we announced the missions of the day. This time, there was no contest happening, just two classy challenges: Best Trick of the Day and Best Slam of the Day, for snowboarders and skiers, for sure. Everyone was hyped about the format, and it was impressive to see how some of the riders really worked hard on their slams.

Besides those two challenges, all our guests were invited to test the new Salomon Snowboards and bindings, which we showcased at the bottom of the park. Additionally, we played some fine tunes, fired up the barbecue, and served some Spezi – Das Original – to the motivated crowd.

Around 15:00, we started the prize-giving ceremony. We had Salomon Snowboards boots, one pair of bindings, GIRO goggles, and merchandise. The highlight was two YETI coolers for the Best Trick in the ski and snowboard categories. Once again, we made go-shred history – not only with the Season RE-Start but also with the upcoming 24/25 season.

During the season, we ran 10 Salomon Snowboards tests and hosted 8 go-shred events in 3 different countries. We barbecued 860 sausages, offered 40 cases of Spezi, and gave away goodies from Volcom, Salomon Snowboards, Giro goggles and helmets, YETI coolers, mugs, and merchandise – with an approximate value close to that of a small new car.

Now, it’s time to relax and enjoy the memories of all those unique moments. Hmmm, maybe I’ll even go to some glacier resorts for some spring shredding.

I want to say THANK YOU, by the way. This is Martin, go-shred founder, writing to all those who participated, watched the videos, read the reports, and have good memories and souvenirs from all the events and everyone part of the go-shred movement. This was the sixteenth season, and I believe the seventeenth will come soon…

Yeah, go-shred has been driving the SHRED since 2009!
