Wieder einmal wurde im Kaunertal Geschichte geschrieben. Zum 31. Mal reiste alles was Rang und Namen hatte zum Kaunertaler Gletscher Opening, um einen gebührenden Start in die neue Saison hinzulegen und go-shred.com war natürlich auch dabei. Dieses Jahr war ein ganz besonderes Jahr für go-shred, denn wir hatten gleich mehrere Projekte zu managen.
Zum 1. Mal in österreichischer Openinggeschichte haben wir einen SHUTTLE SEVICE von Innsbruck Zentrum zum Kaunertaler Gletscher organisiert. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kaunertaler Gletscher haben wir einen 50 Sitzer mit TV, WC und Bar gechartert, der hungrige Shred Heads von unserem Lieblingswohnzimmer Jimmy’s Bar zum Kaunertaler Gletscher fuhr und direkt vor dem Lift raus ließ.

Nach einem 1. Traumtag in einem Snowpark mit der längsten und kreativsten Line, die ich seit 7 Jahren Opening Circus gesehen habe, trudelten langsam alle Wintersportler im Tal ein, um dort beim AFTER RIDE BBQ die Wiedereröffnung des Kaunertaler Gletschers zu feiern. Zusammen mit blue-tomato, Jimmy’s Bar und Volcom versuchten wir eine möglichst gemütliche Stimmung zu erzeugen, was uns mit Hilfe von Freibier, BBQ, Spezi und einer Minirampe auch hervorragend gelungen ist.

Am Samstag hatten wir unseren Hauptauftritt! Wir präsentierten der Kaunertaler Opening Gesellschaft das 2. weltweite RAIL BINGO hosted by MAX ZEBE im Yamaha Playground. Wir zählten mehr als 60 Teilnehmer. Sowohl Teilnehmer als auch Zuschauer waren beeindruckt von dem neuen Format, was in erster Linie Animation zu neuen Tricks beinhaltete.

Jeder BINGO wurde mit einem Goodie von unseren Partnern GNU snowboards, blue-tomato und TRANSFORM gloves belohnt. Nicht zu vergessen, dass demjenigen, der die meisten BINGOS hatte auch noch ein Hauptpreis winkte. Nämlich in der Kategorie Ski gab es ein Paar Fischer Ski und in bei den Snowboardern ein GNU Snowboard.

Alles in allem war es das innovativste Opening im deutschsprachigen Raum seit Jahren. Doch eins wird sich im Kaunertal sicherlich nie ändern, nämlich das unser Freund und Helfer auch immer mitten drin sein will, statt nur dabei. Und trotzdem neu war eine temporäre Polizeistation genau gegenüber vom Festzelt, wo es natürlich kein frischgezapftes Bier oder Schnitzelsemmel gab.

Once again Kaunertal was MANIAC! For 31st time the whole shred scene from all over Europe came to Kaunertal for starting the season and go-shred was part of it! This year for the first time we had several projects to realize for making all the shred heads STOKED!
For the very first time of Austrian Opening history we organized a shuttle service from Innsbruck downtown to the Kaunertaler glacier. In cooperation with the Kaunertaler glacier we chartered a 50 person touring coach with TV, Bar and toilet and shuttled from the most popular bar in town Jimmy’s directly to the lift on top of the Kaunertaler glacier at back to the city. People booked their ride at the go-shredSHOP.com and with a fresh coffee, a croissant and a Volcom goodie bag they were good to go-shred.
After a dreamy first opening day in the most creative and longest park we saw during the last 5 years of Opening madness, people came down to the valley for celebrating the shred at the AFTER RIDE BBQ. We teamed up with blue-tomato, Jimmy’s bar and Volcom for making the atmosphere as comfortable as possible. Beer, Spezi, bbq, sound and a miniramp were the main attraction after the SHRED.
On Saturday we had our main performance! We hold up our worldwide 2nd go-shred RAIL BINGO at the Yamaha playground. We had more than 60 participants, which was enormous. Riders we STOKED to try tricks they never did before and the audience was curios to follow a contest format never seen before. Every BINGO was rewarded with goodies from our partners (Gnu Snowboards, blue-tomato and TRANSFORM gloves). Not to forget that we had two first prices for those who realized the most BINGOS. One pair of Fischer Skis and one GNU snowboard.
All in all it was a great Opening weekend with some glorious innovations! THX to Somaland! But one thing probably will never change. The surveillance that pulled up a temporary station in a hotel just beside the party tent for being also part of it as every year.
