Saturday the 6th of November, we met at the Snowpark Kaunertal for the first GAME of go-shred of the season. Warm sunshine, a perfectly shaped funpark and fresh snow the days before set the stage for an ideal start of the season. The format of the GAME of go-shred is unique: It’s not about finding the best of all, but about trying new tricks, making new friends and getting some inspiration to keep the SHRED fun.
That’s why we spilt the participants in 6 different groups with different skill levels and anticipations. Each group was free to choose the stage of their own GAME of go-shred. From highest Ollie contests to longest slide, fastest run to skipole long throw, snowskate to the infamous Game of Skate. There were plenty of different option, the participants could choose from. Many groups got creative themselves and came up with new ideas, others just went lapping all day and did their Games along the way.
After almost three hours of playing, it was time to wrap up and hand in the sheets and find out who was the winner in each group. But don’t worry: we had prices for every participant! The first 20 people to sign up were given fresh Volcom Longsleeves designed by King Arthur Longo, himself. For the winners we had Giro Goggles, a Salomon Snowboard and a Salomon Binding and Volcom Gore Tex Jackets! At the end, everyone got his or her own goodie pack with caps, drinking bottles, sunnies, stickers, and much more.
It was really good to see, how much fun they all had. Everyone tried something new, got to know someone new and won something new. So make sure to check out our other GAMEs this season. It’s the perfect way to spend the day, no matter what level you’re at.
