Words can’t describe how great this first STEP IN THE ARENA Rail Battle was. First of all, I want to say thank you to High Five Snowpark Shaper crew & the go-shred event team because they all did a great or I’d better say a perfect job. But for sure what would be a new go-shred event format without willing and open-minded SHRED-HEADS?
Ok, let’s try to keep my report in order of what happened this past weekend. The biggest event crew, a go-shred event has ever seen made its way to Steinplatte. All together with all the event stuff we were in one van because we have a strong mobility partner who supplies us with a comfortable van with enough space to get it all in.
Arriving on Friday on the Höhenparkplatz at Steinplatte it feels very familiar even if our last visit was two years ago. Leaving the van, we could smell springtime. It was warm, the trees were green and the snow was slushy. First thing, the go-shred event team had to do was to check out the snowpark and say hello to the shaper homies. After heartworming welcome we straight hit the park. No need to explain this “GO-SHRED AND HAVE FUN”.
The setup for upcoming RAIL BATTLE looked great and we were all satisfied that all the participants will be stoked when they come to be part of it the next day.
Saturday morning after an extensive breakfast buffet at Tiroler Adler we went to the park to pull up our installation. Way faster than expected, we were ready at 10 am and good to go to start the registration. Step by step more and more shredders showed up and wanted to be part of the very first SITA rail battle. All in all, there were more than 60 competitors divided in 6 categories. Ski amateurs and professionals, Snowboard amateurs and professionals, ski girls and snowboard girls. Super stoked to see so many talented and motivated riders.
After 2 hours jam session we could crown the winners. We had tons of goodies and 1000€ price money which we distributed equally throughout all the winners of each category. It was an amazing day!!!
Best event crew ever, best Mr multitasking DJ, sound engeneer and BBQ master Robby, most engaged shaper crew and last but not least the most stoked starter field I witnessed for a very long time.
