Volcom X go-shred I 15 years of driving

Time is ticking, time is running, time is flying – whatever you want to call it, this time it’s the 16th season that go-shred is driving the spirit of shredding through the world. Last September, fifteen years ago, go-shred.com saw the light of the internet and started to revolutionize the SHRED WORLD. The first carsharing platform for winter-sport enthusiasts was born, the first functional non-profit platform for sustainable traveling made it to the worldwide winter-sport community.

Back in 2009, go-shred was pioneering in the world of winter sports, and nowadays, after endless research and the revolution of the automobile industry with the implementation of e-cars, nothing has changed: Everything changed and everybody knows that nearly all tourists travel by car to the resorts, and, at least since last year’s study, conducted by the University of Cologne, initiated by POW and the World Snowboarding Federation, it’s as certain as the “amen” in church that annual travel traffic is still the biggest producer of CO2 in those tight and tiny valleys, which are the most popular winter-sport destinations for snow sports.

Back in 2009, the first support came from Volcom. One of the responsible marketing coordinators in Europe at this time saw the value and the functionality of this project, and the start of the cooperation between one of the most traditional SHRED brands and go-shred was born.

Now, fifteen years later, in times where sustainability, social responsibility, and non-profit awareness have reached a new level of popularity, Volcom and go-shred are still driving together. To celebrate such an organic and long-time cooperation, we made a fresh 15th-anniversary mini collection consisting of a hoodie, beanies, and papers.

In these fast-moving times, where brands come and go, where non-winter multi-sports and fashion brands are trying to get a piece of the cake, we stick to our roots and could not be more stoked to have another supporter since day one: Alex Pfeffer as the creative director of our mini collab collection.

Designed by Alex Pfeffer, the hoodies are screen-printed by myself, (go-shred founder Martin Winchenbach) with water-based colors in human-friendly conditions. A little sidenote: The first designs from Volcom, back in 1991, were also screen-printed by the founders themselves in the garage of Richard Woolcott. 😉 Tradition and originality hit differently.

Due to our DNA of „sharing is caring,“ the strongly limited pieces (100 hoodies, 35 beanies, and 1000 packs of papers) are exclusively available on go-shredSHOP.com, and all the money made will go straight back to where it started. We support those who give their last money for shredding, for living the life and the sensation of shredding as much and as intensely as possible.
